Update: Burnaby RCMP seek witnesses, dash cam video after fatal motor vehicle incident

Burnaby RCMP continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle incident that resulted in the death of a 70-year-old female pedestrian on Hastings Street yesterday, November 16, 2023.

Police have spoken to the driver; however, the investigation is ongoing and more information is needed to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is asking for any witnesses that may not have spoken to police or anyone with dash cam footage in the area to please come forward.

We believe there are a few specific vehicles with dash cam video that could assist in our investigation, said Corporal Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP. If you have recorded video of any type, including dash cam or electronic vehicle cameras, in the area at the time of the incident, please contact our investigators.

Police are asking anyone with dash cam or any video in the area of Hastings Street, between Madison Avenue and Rosser Avenue, from 10:50 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., to please call Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team at 604-646-9999. Quote file 2023-40294.
