Police seek suspect in hit-and-run

Coquitlam RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance and video footage including surveillance, dash cam, and cell-phone video to help identify the suspect involved in a hit-and-run that involved two pedestrians.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Coquitlam RCMP Frontline officers received a report of two pedestrians who had been struck by a vehicle as they crossed a commercial driveway. The pedestrians were on the sidewalk, crossing the driveway when they were struck by a vehicle exiting the parking lot of a commercial shopping centre, in the 1900 block of Como Lake Ave in Coquitlam. The pedestrians did not sustain serious injuries and the suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene.

The suspect can be described as follows:

• female with shoulder length brown curly hair.

The vehicle can be described as follows:

• Older, boxy model, dark blue Jeep.

Police are asking anyone who may have observed the collision on December 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m. or anyone with information, video footage including surveillance, dash cam or cell-phone video to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2023-34343.
