Investigation continues for fatal pedestrian hit and run

Background: The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP is investigating a hit and run collision that claimed the life of a young woman. The incident happened on April 18th, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., on Trans Canada Highway, between Green Road and Beverly Avenue.

The General Investigation Section has conduct of this investigation and have located the vehicle. The vehicle has undergone examination by our Forensic Identification Section. Our officers are continuing to work tirelessly to advance the investigation.

The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP would like to thank the public with their assistance with the investigation so far, says RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano, If you know anything about this hit and run and have not yet spoken with us, please come forward and speak with investigators or supply any dash camera footage you may have.
