Police are turning to the public for help identifying an arson suspect in an investigation that began earlier this month.

On Wednesday June 5, 2024, around 9:30 p.m., the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment received a report of an arson to a mobile site trailer at Talasa Way and Sun Rivers Drive. Frontline officers and the Police Dog Service attended in addition to firefighters.

At the time of the fire, witnesses reported a suspect running from the scene, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops and Tk’emlúps RCMP spokesperson. Police are distributing images of the suspect taken from security video in the hope that someone will be able to recognize him and help further the arson investigation.

The suspect is described as:

• Male
• Tanned skin
• 6’
• Slender build
• Wearing blue jeans, a red long sleeve shirt, and a cap
