Coquitlam RCMP held award ceremony to recognize officers and civilians

Coquitlam RCMP recently recognized those who performed their duties in a manner that truly went above beyond. The awards ceremony was held on November 7, 2024.
In total, 31 individuals were recognized and provided with an award by the Coquitlam RCMP Officer in Charge, Superintendent Darren Carr.

The awards ceremonies included:
- Long Service Medals: awarded to recipients who have spent 20 years as police officers, civilian members and public service employees in the service of the RCMP and their country.
- Bravery: Demonstrated courage and bravery in the face of the risk of injury or harm.
- Outstanding Service: Actions are significantly beyond what would be expected from a person or unit performing the task.
- Volunteer Activities: Demonstrated exemplary and/or innovated voluntary activities beyond the scope of their regular duties, to the RCMP or community at large, in support of RCMP operations which impact at local, municipal or provincial level.
- Certificate of Merit: A citizen who helped prevent a crime by apprehending or trying to apprehend an offender, or by trying to save a life, while faced with actual or anticipated danger.
This award ceremony provides an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the dedication, bravery and selflessness of our officers as well as civilians,
