File # 2023-1328
A suspect has been charged in relation to the homicide of Henry Doyle.
Background:
On September 23, 2023, the Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious death, after a 58-year old man, later identified as Henry Doyle, was located with serious injuries on Klein Lake Forest Service Road in Egmont, BC. First responders arrived on scene and provided emergency first aid, but sadly, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
In consultation with the BC Coroners Service, the man’s death was determined to be suspicious in nature. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and worked closely in partnership with the Sunshine Coast RCMP, BC Coroners Service, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS).
Update:
On September 13, 2024, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of first-degree murder against Henry Doyle’s 26-year-old son, Jackson Doyle, in relation to the homicide. Investigators can confirm Jackson Doyle will remain in custody until his first court appearance.
IHIT’s investigative team has remained committed to this investigation over the past year,
said Cpl. Chase Smith of IHIT. We would like to thank the Sunshine Coast RCMP, Richmond RCMP, IFIS, Vancouver Police Department and the entire Egmont community, for their support throughout this investigation.
